Three suspects have been arrested for abduction and forcible detention of an individual at Koswatta in Bandaragama, Police said.
The Panadura Division Law enforcement officers arrested the suspects following an investigation. According to the Police, the suspects had abducted and assaulted an individual after forcibly detaining him last Wednesday.
The injured man was admitted to the Panadura Hospital. Police arrested two suspects for assaulting and forcibly detaining the man and they also seized the van and arrested its driver on Wednesday. They were handed over to the Bandaragama Police.
Investigation revealed that the man was allegedly abducted by his employer in connection with a theft.
The police are investigating to arrest the main suspect who is absconding.
The arrested suspects aged 38 and 51 are residents of Bandaragama were to be produced in the Panadura Magistrate’s Court.
