The Sri Lanka Weightlifting Federation (SLWF) have submitted a 20-member contingent for Sports Minister’s approval targeting the Commonwealth Championships and the IWF World Championships, from December 7 to 17 in Uzbekistan.
Earlier, the Commonwealth Championship was set to be held in Singapore in October but was moved to Uzbekistan due to COVID-19 protocols. Sri Lanka’s main focus will be on the Commonwealth Championship as a number of weightlifters are set to represent the country at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.
