St. John’s in line for early kill

Mar. 8 (Daily Mirror) - St. John’s College Jaffna were in line to record an outright win over traditional rivals Jaffna Central at the end of the second day’s play in the 117th Battle of the North Big Match continued at the Jaffna Central Grounds today.

St. John’s in reply to Jaffna Centrals’ score of 157 went on to make 228 and Jaffna Central batting the second time were struggling at 140 for nine.

  • Jaffna Central: 157 and 140/9 (Nishanthan Ajoy 23, Sathakaran Similtan 21, Sudarshan Arushanth 20, Stanley Samson 2/18, Kirupananthan Kajakarnan 2/27, Jeyachandran Ashnth 2/30).
