Police remove satyagraha tent against Sallay’s detention



Colombo, June 8 (Daily Mirror) - The Police today removed a makeshift hut set up by several opposition political parties that staged a satyagraha near the Fort Railway Station in Colombo this morning, condemning the inhumane and unjust treatment of former State Intelligence Service (SIS) Director, Major General (Retired) Suresh Sallay.

A tense situatuion erupted when the police attempted to remove the hut.

Opposition politicians including Wimal Weerawansa, Udaya Gammanpila and several other politicians launched a satyagraha near the Fort Railway Station in Colombo this morning.
