Colombo, June 8 (Daily Mirror) - Manori Sallay, the spouse of former State Intelligence Service Director Major General (Retd.) Suresh Sallay said that her husband was still refusing to take food at the hospital.
Making remarks to the press while rushing after seeing him, she said that lawyers were taking care of the next steps.
“He does not take food. He is on saline at the moment,” she said.
Suresh Sallay has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Sallay remains in remand custody following his arrest by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on February 25 in connection with ongoing investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks.
Earlier reports indicated that he had launched a hunger strike while in CID custody, alleging that he had been subjected to inhumane treatment. However, Sri Lanka Police denied the allegations, maintaining that the suspect had not been assaulted or subjected to any form of cruel treatment while under detention.
