Ten injured in bus crash near Pinnaduwa Interchange on Southern Expressway

Colombo, June 8 (Daily Mirror) - About ten passengers were injured in a road accident that occurred near the Pinnaduwa entrance of the Southern Expressway in the Galle area this evening (08).

Police said the accident took place when a bus travelling from Colombo to Galle reportedly lost control and crashed through a security gate at the Pinnaduwa Interchange of the Southern Expressway before colliding with a roadside pole.

Expressway police and staff rushed to the scene and provided immediate assistance, while the injured were transferred to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The exact cause of the accident has not yet been determined. Police attached to the Pinnaduwa Expressway unit have launched further investigations.
