Colombo, Feb. 15 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Girls’ and Boys’ Team qualified to play in the semi-finals of the ITF Asia/Oceania Under-14 Pre-Qualifying Junior Tennis Tournament Team Championship when they came out victorious in their respective quarter-final matches played at the SLTA Courts in Green Path, Colombo.
In the Girls’ category Sandithi Usgodaarachchi and Akesha Silva emerged victorious against Pacific Oceania 2-0 while in the Boys’ category Risith Somaratne and Akesh Silva had the better of Myanmar 2-0.
Results:
Girls’ Singles quarter-finals: Sandithi Usgodaarachchi (Sri Lanka) beat Alexandria Chand (Pacific Oceania) 6-1, 6-1. Akesha Silva (Sri Lanka) beat Colita Hakena (Pacific Oceania) 6-1, 6-2.
Boys’ Singles quarter-finals: Risith Somaratna (Sri Lanka) beat Dar Woo (Myanmar) 7-5, 7-6. Ashlin de Silva (Sri Lanka) beat Phee Sar Sei (Myanmar) 7-6, 6-1.
