Chamari Athapaththu was picked to lead the Sri Lanka Women’s cricket team for the forthcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup cricket tournament scheduled to be held in South Africa.
The Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Roshan Ranasinghe has approved the squad of 15 players and included in the team is Vishmi Gunaratne the Sri Lanka U19 Women’s team captain who led the Sri Lanka Women’s U19 team which participated at the recently concluded ICC T20 U19 Women’s World Cup which was also held at South Africa.
However there is a doubt that Hasini Perera would be able to make the tour as she is doubtful having suffered an injury during practice session. By M. Shamil Amit
