Pro-golfer Anura Rohana ended on top at the first leg of the trials for Asian Games golf competition and worked off at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club recently.
Rohana finished first, four strokes ahead of Mithun Perera.
More trials are scheduled by Sri Lanka Golf National Selectors in keeping with the standards set by the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Sports.
The top-ranking amateurs did not disappoint and finished close behind the pros.
The youngest in the girls’ event Kaya Daluwatte, along with Reshan Algama and junior sensational player Yannik Kumara, did well to play alongside the elite set of players.
The next two events will take place in Kandy and Colombo.
Four men and three women would be selected following the remaining two tournaments.
