Army Corporal killed, 8 soldiers injured in accident

An Army Corporal was killed and eight soldiers injured when a cab they were travelling in skidded off the road and toppled at Giritale in Polonnaruwa early yesterday morning.  Police said ten solders were travelling in the cab when the accident occurred on the Polonnaruwa-Habarana main road.  

The injured were admitted to the Polonnaruwa Hospital.  

The 31-year-old Corporal, attached to the Giritale Army Camp died on admission to hospital.  

Police said the driver of the cab was arrested.
