Mr. Kottu restaurant chain owner arrested over alleged assault of employee

Colombo, June 30 (Daily Mirror) - The owner of the popular "Mr. Kottu" restaurant chain, Viraj Wickramanayake, has been arrested in connection with the alleged assault of one of his employees.

Police said the suspect was arrested by the Maharagama Police today (30) following a complaint and is scheduled to be produced before the Gangodawila Magistrate's Court.

The arrest follows an investigation into CCTV footage that allegedly shows Wickramanayake verbally abusing and physically assaulting an employee inside one of his restaurant outlets.

It was reported that the incident occurred on May 5, and the footage of the incident went viral on social media
