Colombo, June 24 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lankan Rupee depreciated further against the US Dollar today (24), with the selling rate crossing the Rs. 340 mark, according to the latest exchange rates released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
The buying rate of the US Dollar increased from Rs. 329.65 on Tuesday to Rs. 330.35 today, while the selling rate rose from Rs. 339.49 to Rs. 340.06.
Meanwhile, the Rupee recorded slight gains against a basket of major foreign currencies but weakened marginally against several Gulf currencies, the Central Bank data showed.
The latest movement comes amid continued fluctuations in the foreign exchange market.
