Youth killed in selfie tragedy in Vavuniya

A 21-year-old youth was knocked down by a train when taking a selfie on the Kallaru Bridge in Settikulam, Vavuniya, Police said.

They said two youth had attempted to take a selfie while the train heading to Anuradhapura from Mannar was moving and one of them had been knocked down while the other had jumped out of the bridge.

The deceased was identified as a resident of Murungan, Mannar. (Romesh Madushanaka)
