Former National Lotteries Board Chairperson Shyamila Perera arrested

Colombo, June 30 (Daily Mirror) - The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has arrested Shyamila Perera, the former Chairperson of the National Lotteries Board (NLB), a short while ago.

The arrest is in connection with a corruption charge dating back to her tenure as the NLB Chairperson.

She is accused of committing corruption by recruiting three officers to the National Lotteries Board but instead deploying them to serve on the personal staff of the then-Minister, Ravi Karunanayake.
