‘Utiya’ arrested over assault on two novice monks

A suspect, Chaminda Galaboda alias Utiya was arrested today for allegedly assaulting two novice monks in a temple in Horowpathana on last Saturday (07), police said.

They said an investigation had been launched based on a video footage, which was circulated in social media with regard to the assault on the two novice monks.

He is to be produced before Anuradhapura Magistrates Court tomorrow. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
