Suspected ’Ava’ gang leader arrested in Mount Lavinia

Colombo, Feb 04 (Daily Mirror) -  The Walana Anti-Corruption Unit has arrested the suspected leader of the 'Ava' gang, involved in numerous crimes in Jaffna, during a raid in Mount Lavinia.

The suspect was arrested while staying on the upper floor of a two-storey house in Mount Lavinia.

Police believe the suspect may have been planning to flee the country.

It was revealed that the suspect has a severe addiction to ice drugs and with 01 gram and 300 mg of the substance discovered in his possession at the time of arrest.
