Huge sum of money will be allocated for the forthcoming budget: GL

A large sum of money will be allocated for the forthcoming budget for infrastructure development and upliftment of public livelihoods, Foreign Minister G.L Peiris said.

After visiting the Asgiriya and Malwathu Maha Nayaka Theras he said several projects would be launched next year to uplift the lives of the people despite the economic difficulties.

"The forthcoming Budget is expected to create more jobs and increase public welfare activities to reduce unemployment," the Minister said.

The Minister also said that the United Kingdom (UK) had agreed to launch several investment projects in Sri Lanka as the COVID risk level decreases. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
