Heart not in the list of symbols reserved for parties: EC

The Election Commission has not yet included the heart in the list of symbols to be assigned to a political party, an official said yesterday.

An official of the Commission said that there is a list of symbols to be assigned to a political party when it applies for legal recognition.

He said the heart symbol was not available in this list. However, he said the Election Commission could decide whether to include it in the list later within seven days after the declaration of the parliamentary elections.(Kelum Bandara)
