Final decision after discussion with UNF allies: Akila

The final decision on appointing former UNP Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa as the Opposition Leader will be made after a discussion with all allies of the party, UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said yesterday. 

Mr Kariyawasam told Daily Mirror that Party Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe had informed Speaker Karu Jayasuriya and Mr Premadasa that he has no issue with the opposition leader’s post but the matter should be discussed with all allies of the UNF.

Accordingly, Mr Premadasa is to meet all allies shortly to arrive at a final decision. (Yohan Perera)
