Expect showers in East, Uva, Polonnaruwa, Matale, Nuwara-Eliya this evening

Colombo,  Jan 28 (Daily Mirror) - Showers will occur today in the Eastern and Uva Provinces and in the Polonnaruwa, Matale and Nuwara-Eliya districts, the Forecasting Division of the National Meteorological Centre said.

They said a few showers may occur in the Anuradhapura, Mullaitivu and Hambantota districts, and showers will occur at a few places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and in the Galle, Matara and Kandy districts after 2 p.m.

Strong winds of about 40 kmph can be expected at times over the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, Central, Uva and North-Western Provinces and the Hambantota district.

The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
