Colombo, Dec. 3 (Daily Mirror) - Nearly seventy countries have already offered to provide humanitarian aid to Sri Lanka in the wake of the disaster situation in the country, Ports and Civil Aviation Minister Anura Karunathilake said today.
He told Parliament that some countries such as India and Pakistan have sent humanitarian assistance for rescue operations.
He said some countries such as China, Germany, Japan, Maldives, Nepal and the United States are among those who have offered humanitarian aids.
The Minister said a shipment of 200 metric tones of humanitarian aid will arrive in Sri Lanka soon.
He said these countries have offered not only emergency assistance but assistance such as funding and machinery required in the rebuilding process in the future.
