West Indies cricketer banned for five years

ICC -  The International Cricket Council (ICC) has imposed a five-year period of ineligibility from all cricket on West Indies player Devon Thomas after he accepted breaching seven counts of the anti-corruption codes of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

The ICC announced the period of ineligibility in its capacity as the Designated Anti-Corruption Official under the relevant codes, ruling that the last 18 months of the period of ineligibility would be suspended.

Mr. Thomas, who chose to admit the charges and agreed to a sanction with the ICC in lieu of an Anti-Corruption Tribunal hearing, admitted to being in breach of the following provisions of the SLC, ECB and CPL Codes:

    he should apply for Sri Lankan citizenship and contest for elections, , our politicians never get convicted for corruption which a billion times worse than this.

    West indies cricket was No.1 and is in ground discipline and respect and love for the game to my knowledge for the last 50 years. now we hear new things.It may be due to Poverty and under payment to cricketers.

    He should have been banned for life but the Anti Corruption System is very poorly worth worrying about because the board itself is also corrupt. They seems only to punish the weak and poor countries who are powerless to fight them on their members behalf....THE WEAK AND THE FRAIL WILL ALWAYS SUFFER THROUGH A BULLY REGIME!!!!
