May 7 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said that Amul, a leading Indian milk producer with international presence has been appointed as the 'Official Sponsor' of the Sri Lanka Men's Team for the duration of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.

“Amul's partnership with Sri Lanka Cricket is an excellent move, as associating with an international sports brand is definitely going to help the firm gain market growth and further enhance its brand visibility among the international audience," CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket Ashley De Silva said.

Sri Lanka will kick off the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 campaign on June 3, 2024, facing South Africa in New York.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be held in the West Indies and the USA from June 01 to 29.

Excellent decision. Hope that the SL team performances live up to the expectations of the sponsor.

Too much of India these days

    Sanjeewa A Tuesday, 07 May 2024 09:26 PM

Very true, Indian dominance is too much. As India itself is not a developed country with millions of people living under poverty line, and without a considerable reputation, it will drag our country down gradually.

NO respect for SL Wednesday, 08 May 2024 01:55 AM

As if SL is having a great reputation. SL itself is dragged down to its lowest. No value for SL Sanjeewa A-Passports and Educational Qualifications. 95% SL Graduates are working as toilet cleaners in Middle eastern countries-car washers, toilet cleaners, SL girls are sleeping with Pakistani, Bengali to save room bedspace here in Gulf countries. They call them here Sri LANKEEE NANGI cheapest.

India is living under poverty line Wednesday, 08 May 2024 03:37 PM

Fr bruh like 99% of indians living under poverty line and like bro people have no jobs it's just few people carrying the country, it's obvious from how many people in 1 scam call center like 40 people and there like thousands of call centers made to scam people. Like 99% who get educational qualifications just ends up being in a scam call center and there women be having 5 bfs

    Amul-Highland?

    Concerns Tuesday, 07 May 2024 05:35 PM

Amul is familiarising with SL before taking over Highland....

    Dee Tuesday, 07 May 2024 10:12 PM

Good move. Before it collapses. When all plastic is banned, highland continues with it as if it’s their own land. All this while we have much better quality products. Amul will do a much better job at Highland. But they may need to change the staff. Sans the unions! Looking forward to a better product.

Have they already started milk production from Ambewela Farms. Without knowledge an under-hand deal may have been worked out, It will be very easy to fix India vs Sri Lanka in any sport.

    sponsor Tuesday, 07 May 2024 05:53 PM

Amul Butter is a famous brand name in India and must be hoping to break into the Sri Lanka market very soon. As far as I could remember the company has been in existence for nearly half a century.

Big Sorry, if Sri Lanka goes to final with India !

Hope they reach semi finals Wednesday, 08 May 2024 01:49 AM

Have confidence in boys, SL team will not even reach semi finals

another disaster Wednesday, 08 May 2024 07:58 AM

@Milan Abraham. It could be another disaster waiting to happen like what happened in the T20 cricket world Cup last year when Sri Lanka batted first and were bowled out fo 50 runs and india won the game in 6 overs while the whole match lasted only less than 3 hours with more than 75 overs of the whole game still left to be bowled.

There is no such thing as a free meal. The first step of neo-colonialism can be addressed with self-help remedies through the tools of popular culture and sports. Then, you can solidify it through investments and the acquisition of purely commercial assets, and finally, vital strategic assets The People of Asshik Land never see this coming via Manike -Mage-Hithe !

I think this sponsor will be more beneficial if India wins the cup. This talented squad also deserves full support.

Selwyn Simmons Tuesday, 07 May 2024 09:16 PM

Most of milk companies is sri Lanka are selling adding water powder milk and selling ag double the price compare to the price of india. Amul will bring end to corporate monopoly milk industry in sri Lanka - Amul is private company base in India there is nothing to do with indian government! ( so far Chalo Milk company produce quality milk in sri Lanka most of company selling milk power milk ) Amul will bring milk price to half and so even normal people can consume milk

An opportunity for the national team to showcase a srilankan brand is gone.

    FredSnr Wednesday, 08 May 2024 07:02 AM

If SL is selling milk at double the price as stated above adding water then the solution is for the SL govt to take steps to stop the practice, that's why we elect governments, to govern, not a justification to hand over to an Indian co . A country develops through self reliance, primarily control of its food supply, energy, and by developing the skills of its people. That's how India developed despite its poverty which still exists

    geeta Wednesday, 08 May 2024 07:54 AM

Those who talks about too much influence of India , must introspect ,who would SL national team otherwise? A mediocre team...must show your gratitude to Amul for sponsoring your team.

    wsw Thursday, 09 May 2024 06:38 AM

Gratitude my foot, this seems to be a well orchestrated plan to eventually dominate and destroy our local diary industry.

    Sambo Wednesday, 08 May 2024 08:01 AM

Because they are eyeing to buy over our milk factories .

    wsw Thursday, 09 May 2024 06:58 AM

@NO respect for SL - Nothing degrading cleaning toilets, it's only in your little head. You are much better off focusing on your sorry souls, who don't even have toilets to be cleaned and instead keep defecating on your Indian streets.
