It is indeed pathetic to note that the people including senior health officials, doctors who should set an example with COVID safety measures, sometimes take health rules for granted, Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath said.
He told a news briefing today that this creates doubts and a bad impression among the general public.
“Such individuals have posted photos on social media without even wearing a mask,” he said.
“Ordinary people might think if such individuals do not follow health rules, why should they worry about it which is a serious situation,” he emphasised.
Dr. Herath said that responsible people like doctors and others cannot possibly forgo health practices because it is by looking at their way of behaviour, some ordinary people come to conclusions. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

Please tell this to the doctors. We cannot advise the doctors.
Dr. Weerasinghe, York hospital, UK Friday, 05 November 2021 05:32 PM
Not surprising when doctors are allowed by the government to give priority to their healthy and young family members and friends at the start of vaccination programme. And these were not the Sinopharm vaccines by the way. I guess most Srilankan doctors never ever heard of the hippocratic oath. Please search for the oath on the Internet.

You are not the only one who is aware of that oath. it is just that they don't follow it for reasons best known only to them. May be monetary.

Oh just give it a rest, please. Life has to go on, we can't always be living in fear. A life lived worried is not a life worth living. Viruses come and go, that's always been the way of the world, but life finds a way to continue regardless. Stop this fear-mongering and start living!

To Dr. Weerasinghe : the new oath asks physicians to eliminate their personal biases, combat disinformation to improve health literacy and be an ally to minorities and other underserved groupes in society.

Even at work, some doctors and nurses ignore infection control practices such as hand hygiene while the cleaning team members are following the guidelines property.

Before commenting doctors, please refrain from furnishing contradictory statistics on daily Covid-19 contacts for the country and Worldometers. Our statistics are always under-stated!

So what’s the live you are proposing. Stay wearing masks for lifetime? No we have vaccinated 70% of population and need to continue it. Get the third dose but people should open up and live life normally. There’s no other option.
