IGP oders probe over Bandarawela HQI’s conduct over arrest of woman

Why is such contraindications in the application of law ? Did the police department educate police how to arrest and when to arrest ...IGP is responsible to educate all police officers why to arrest and how to arrest people for any matter...people are born freely and if police can arrest students and public for expressing their political opinions freely ...what is wrong if this police officer has arrested this mother for her parental negligence..it is both mother and father are responsible...what is wrong in questioning here ...that is the only way to educate the public on this matter ...this is how politice must do it in an transparent way .. It is judge and legal experts who decide what went wrong on this interview..all what IGP could do is hand over this case to court to investigate and decide...I don't know if there any specific police court in Sri Lanka for cases like this

Amidst blatant violent and idiotic behaviour by some Police personnel in dealing with protesters and such like these days, I must admit I haven't seen anything untoward on the part of the OIC Bandarawela when arresting and questioning the unfortunate mother of the abandoned baby as shown on TV. Fair is fair.

Needs reforms on approach , I watched the vedio, I am sure police was not aware of the protocol. May he approach was not intentional. We need to teach from child hood how to protect dignity of other person and privacy

Utterly stupid to attack police who have remanded the mother who got rid of her child. If she ends up in prison after conviction then what does all this fuss matter. The rights of the child are abused, while the criminal mother is protected.
