Forensic Medical Experts and archaeologists continuing excavations in what security forces believe to be a mass grave at Kokkutuduwai in Mullaitivu had on Saturday recovered complete skeletal remains of two bodies.

He said the fragments of decayed uniforms similar to those of the security forces, a worn out badge bearing the number of a LTTE cadre used by the LTTE during military conflicts, fragments of a weapon and cartridges were among those recovered.

The world may have to re define the battle ground laws and ethics which was more to do with face to face fighting like in the good old days. However in modern warfare with terrorism and suicide cadres abusing ambulances, hospitals pregnant ladies places of religious worship etc we cant have a one sided accusation for war crimes - where a legitimate armies of the world has to abide by the rules and terrorists have a right to get away with various practices which in the past (ages back) was not there.

A legitimate government has to follow legitimate rules of engagement when fighting a war, there is no compromise on that. Such a Govt cannot behave as terrorists, even if the enemy behaves that way. Would you be happy to go into a government hospital and find Doctors will no longer be responsible if they cut your good left hand instead of your bad right hand? Therefore stop the nonsense of protecting illegality. Sri Lankan citizens (a huge 69%) are in the habit of ignoring crimes that happened to other races and religions and in fact that blindness created the complete bankruptcy and collapse of this nation. Though we are almost 98% literate, our basic intelligence is worse than countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh, that is why we are nation of losers.

Bad karma has befallen us, that why we who raped for pleasure and killed are now sending our damsels abroad to be actioned for the sex trade and to provide comfort for unwashed overseas men under the guise of maid services. And we strut on the international stage oblivious to the disdain people have for us and our country

A legitimate government forces will have to abide by the international rules norm. Otherwise there will be anarchy in the form of rape, torture and murder. The non disciplined terrorist are a law unto themselves.

Ranil, I'm sure will step in and appoint a committee to investigate. A few months later the rulers and people will forget all about it, like hundreds of other committees (the lyrics in our national anthem is...yes, just for the music!)

There are clear laws and regulations in international law and international war law that clearly state what is permitted and what is not permitted in war, i.e. how wars may be waged, but no country adheres to them! And this despite the fact that wars in modern times are based on the premises of these general legal provisions and claim worldwide validity!!! However, the overriding problem of international law is the fact that over the centuries it has not been possible to tame the human predator and to prevent excesses of cruelty!!! That's why border crossings and crimes under international law occur in all these wars! This happened on both sides, including in the LTTE's war of terror against the Sri Lankan state and the SL Army!!! As terrible as all this is, we will still have to face years of gruesome discoveries!!!
