Right arm pacie Gurnoor Brar shone with a match bag of ten wickets in India A’s ten wicket win over Sri Lanka A in the second unofficial Test match concluded at the Galle Stadium which helped them to clinch the two match series 1-0.
The final day’s play saw India A resuming from their overnight score of 541 for 8 adding another two runs for the loss of a wicket before making a declaration with the score on 543 for 9.
Sri Lanka A batting the second time and left with the task of erasing a deficit of 177 runs fell into deep trouble as they succumbed to pacie Gurnoor who bagged three scalps and lost their top five wickets with the score on 119.
Despite Ashen Bandara putting in some resistance and who made a top knock of 87 and with no significant partnership coming he was forced to watch losing his partners at the other end.
Sri Lanka A managed to save the agony of an innings defeat and Gurnoor continued to torment by taking three more wickets to bowl the host side for a low score of 209 runs which left India A with a victory target of just 36 runs which they achieved with ease.
