Mahavithana (155) steer Sri Lanka U-19

Opener Dimantha Mahavithana’s swashbuckling unbeaten knock of 155 in 152 balls inclusive of 12 boundaries and five towering sixes paved the way for Sri Lanka U19 to record a comfortable eight wicket win over India U19 in the second ODI encounter played at the Sooriyawewa Stadium yesterday which helped the host side to level the three match series at one each.

Mahavithana took control as he featured in two match winning partnerships of 103 runs for the second wicket with Senuja Wekunagoda who hit a breezy 60 in 64 balls with four boundaries and two sixes.

Mahavithana joined by skipper Vimath Dinsara steered the side by associating in an unbroken 163 runs in 135 balls for Sri Lanka U19 to race to the target with 12 balls to spare. 

The two teams will play their third and deciding ODI on July 9 at the same venue.
