“Do not ask what your country can do for you, but what you can do for the country.” This famous quote was made by the late American President John F. Kennedy at his inauguration.

The world is going through a crisis due to the Middle East conflict and its impact is felt more severely in a country like ours. Rather than dwelling on past mistakes,  we need to act now.

Here are some points which could be useful if we are to recover from this crisis:

1) Cut down on luxury vehicle imports and fuel-guzzling vehicles .
2) Neon signs in private buildings are switched on till morning, consuming more electricity.
3) Government’s communications are weak in advising the public of certain responsibilities.
4) Private sector should do more exports than luxury imports.
5) Encourage people to become self-sufficient and introduce crop diversification in plantations and  cut down wastage.

These are just a few suggestions to manage the crisis.

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.

If we love our country we should try and make a difference.
