Ajantha takes reins of CMI UK, Sri Lanka Branch

Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri, the immediate past Director of the Postgraduate Institute of Management, was recently honoured as the President of the Chartered Management Institute, UK (CMI) – Sri Lanka Branch. 


He succeeded Indra Kaushal Rajapaksa, who completed two consecutive years of service as the President. 
Prof. Dharmasiri, as the Vice President of the CMI Sri Lanka Branch, collectively contributed to raise the managerial competencies among the professionals in Sri Lanka. He has a rare combination of being a Chartered Manager, Chartered HR Professional and a Chartered Electrical Engineer. 


Being a past President of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), he became the first Sri Lankan to lead both the CIPM and CMI, two professional charter bodies present in Sri Lanka. He is an Adjunct Professor at Price College of Business, University of Oklahoma, as well. Prof. Dharmasiri likes to identify himself as one who transitioned from being an “Engineer of Electrical” to an “Engineer of Hearts and Minds”.


The CMI is the only chartered professional body providing certification in the highest standards of management and leadership.
