Five arrested over robbery

Five people were arrested by the Valachchenei police for allegedly stealing Rs.4.6 million worth of jewelry and money by entering a house that belongs to a leading businessman in the area.

Police media spokesman SP Preshantha Jayakody said that the suspects had also damaged property during the robbery. The Valachchenei police are now investigating to recover the money and jewelry based on information gathered by further questioning the suspects. (SD)
