Youth killed, another injured in Kahawatta shooting

A 22-year-old youth was shot dead and another critically injured in a shooting incident in the Yainna area of Kahawatta, police said today.

According to reports, four unidentified individuals arrived at a house in the Koskella area of Yainna on Sunday night and abducted two youths. The victims were later taken to a deserted area where they were shot.

The 22-year-old victim died at the scene, while the 27-year-old man was rushed to the Kahawatta Base Hospital for treatment.

Police said the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the identity of the assailants has not yet been established. Kahawatta Police have launched a full investigation into the incident.
