Colombo, May 1 (Daily Mirror) - Two members of Sri Lanka’s Under-19 cricket team who were arrested over the alleged recording of an obscene video involving a woman at a hotel in Narahenpita have been released on bail, Police said.
The arrests were made following an investigation launched by the Narahenpita Police after receiving a 119 emergency complaint on April 29, 2026.
The complaint stated that a woman had been secretly filmed through a bathroom window while inside, along with several female doctors attending a workshop at a hotel on Fife Road on April 27.
Subsequent inquiries led to the arrest of two suspects who had been staying in separate rooms at the same hotel. The individuals, aged 18 and 19, are residents of Pannala and Kandy.
Police further revealed that the suspects are members of Sri Lanka’s Under-19 cricket team, who had travelled to Colombo for training at the R. Premadasa Stadium and were staying at the hotel with other team members at the time of the incident.
