The Kandy Hotels Co. sees public float rise to 23%

The Kandy Hotels Co. (1938) PLC’s public holding rose to 23 percent as of 1 September 2025, from 15.98 percent at end-June, after non-public shareholders sold shares in the market last month.

The increase of 7.02 percentage points comes after Ambeon Holdings PLC acquired a 6.09 percent stake in the hotel operator for Rs.550.8 million on August 21.

Kandy Hotels, a subsidiary of Ceylon Hotels Corporation PLC, owns properties including EKHO Surf, EKHO Lake House, the Lake Hotel, and Suisse Hotel Kandy. Yesterday, the shares of the company closed 30 cents higher at Rs. 17.90.
