Single national list slot - UNP to decide on Monday

While saying it was unlikely that UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe would enter Parliament through the party's single national list slot, UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said yesterday the party would decide on Monday as to who will be nominated to fill the slot.

Former UNP MP Vajira Abeywardene said the UNP did not have a tradition of sending defeated candidates to Parliament through the national list. (Yohan Perera)
