Signal malfunctioning restored: GMR

The signal failure that was experienced this morning has been restored and trains are running as usual, Railways General Manager Dhammika Dassanayake said.

He said the morning trains on the mainline and the Puttalam lines were delayed due to signal failure. Several trains on other lines were also delayed due to certain issues, he said.

However, the signal issue was solved and trains are now being operated as per the schedule.

Meanwhile, no damage was reported in the minor mishaps on the Puttalam line and between Ragama and Peralanda, he said. (CS)
