Ranil begins dialogue with TPA

Colombo, June 11 (Daily Mirror) - Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) ally Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) met former President Ranil Wickremeisnghe at his Flower Road office yesterday to discuss several political issues.

TPA leader MP Mano Ganesan, Deputy Leaders Palani Thigambaram MP and V. Radhakrishnan MP participated in the discussions with the UNP leader. 

TPA sources said the discussions centered on the unfinished formations of LG councils in the Nuwara Eliya district. 

The discussion was urgently called by the former President as he is about to leave for Russia today.  

TPA sources refused to answer questions on the discussions beyond the LG council formations that took place between the UNP and the TPA but said Ranil Wickremesinghe nominated UNP General Secretary Thalatha Atukorala to continue discussions with the TPA in his absence until he returns from Russia, indicating that there will be an ongoing dialogue between the two parties.
