Police Commission approves appointing Shani Abeysekera as CID Director

The National Police Commission has approved the appointment of SSP Shani Abeysekera as Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Acting Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasooriya had sought the Commission’s approval for Abeysekera’s appointment. 

The official letter confirming the posting is expected to be sent to Police Headquarters today.

Following the change of government last year, Shani Abeysekera was reinstated in the police service and appointed as Director, Crimes, Sri Lanka Police.
