New Chairman appointed to Election Commission

The Parliamentary Council has approved the appointment of Nimal Punchihewa as the new Chairman of the Election Commission.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had nominated the name of Nimal Punchihewa as the Chairman of the Election Commission.

Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Council has also approved the names for the Police Commission, the Social Services Commission and the Bribery and Corruption Commission.
