Jaffna uni closed until further notice

The Jaffna University administration said all faculties of the Jaffna University will be closed from today (April 4) until further notice.

Accordingly, the university administration has informed, that only the final year students of the Medical Faculty can sit for the examinations and take part in lectures.

All other students who are lodging in university dormitories have been asked to go home as soon as they can.

Following numerous anti-government protests organised in front of the university in the past few days, the university administration has taken the decision to close the university until further notice, considering a possible risk to the undergraduates. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
