Decision of keeping all temples in dark withdrawn

With a written assurance from the Public Utilities pCommission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) the decision to conduct a  non-violent protest at temples has been withdrawn, Ven. Omalpe Sobitha Thera said.

He said the PUCSL has agreed to provide a concession for the increased electricity bills for religious places.

Earlier, a decision was taken to keep temples in the dark on this Poya Day to protest against the government's failure to take action and not provide concessions for the electricity bill payments of religious places.(Chaturanga Samarawikrama)
