Bodies of two missing fishermen found

Two bodies of fishermen who went missing while fishing in the sea were found on the beach of Kayankerni yesterday, the Wakarai police said.

The victims, aged 56 and 21were father and son, and they had gone fishing last Sunday (16) evening from Kayankerni and Yanikkal areas.

They victims were from the Manikkeni area. The postmotem was conducted at the Batticoloa hospital and the cause of death was due to drowning. The two bodies were handed over to the relatives.

The Wakarai police are conducting further investigations. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
