Bangladeshi national held for operating drone near Sri Dalada Maligawa

A Bangladeshi national was arrested by the Dalada Maligawa Police for operating a drone camera and taking video footage of the Sri Dalada Maligawa area in Kandy today.

Police said the premises of the Temple of Tooth in Kandy was a high security zone while the  the Presidential Palace was also in close proximity.

Police had taken a camera, mobile phone, drone camera and the suspect's passport into custody.

The suspect had informed the police that he had obtained the relevant footage for a YouTube channel he was operating. (Chamil Rupasingha)
