Bandula’s name proposed for Finance

Bandula Gunawardena's name has been proposed as the new Finance Minister and discussions are underway to finalize this, sources told Daily Mirror a short while ago.

Bandula's name was proposed after Ali Sabry resigned from the post in less than 24 hours. 

The Daily Mirror learns that plans were underway to appoint an economist to the post, after swearing him in as a national list MP, but as not many were willing to take up the position, Bandula's name has been proposed as time was running out amidst the severe economic crisis. (Jamila Husain)
