Colombo University: 2668 students to receive honours at graduation

The graduation of the University of Colombo for 2019 will be held from December 17-19 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.   
A total of 2668 students are expected to receive certificates of graduation from the faculties, institutes, schools and campuses of university.  
Chancellor Sasana Kirti Sri Buddha Sasana Shobhana Ven. Murutthettuwe Ananda Nayaka Thera, Vice Chancellor Senior Professor Chandrika N. Wijeyaratne, the Rector, Deans, Directors, Librarian, Academic staff members, the Registrar, and the Bursar will grace the occasion.

The event will be held in eleven sessions over a three-day period. On December 17 the sessions of the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Education and the Institute of Human Resource Advancement and the Faculty of Medicine will be held. The graduation sessions that will be held on December 18 are of the University of the Colombo School of Computing and the Faculty of Management and Finance. On December 19 the sessions of the Faculty of Law, Institute of Indigenous Medicine and University of Colombo Institute of Agro - Technology and Rural Sciences, Sri Palee Campus and the Faculty of Science will be held.  


The Convocation Addresses will be delivered by Dr. Kulatunga Rajapakse, Prof Thusitha Abeytunga, Prof. Saroj Jayasinghe, Peter de Almeida, Ranil Witharana, Ven. Thapovanaye Sutadara Thera, Majula de Silva, Dr. Sarath Gamini de Silva, Dr. Rohan Fernando, Dr. W.M.W. Weerakoon and Rev Fr. Noel Dias during the respective sessions.   
This year the University of Colombo celebrated the centenary of its faculties of Arts, Science and the Main Library.
