Litro Gas Lanka Limited issued a special notice requesting that their customers to return any unfinished LPG cylinder that were released to the local market prior to December 2021.
Accordingly, they mentioned that unfinished LPG cylinders of 12.5 kg, 5 kg, and 2.3 kg sizes with the black or blue seal can be handed over to the nearest Litro Gas Lanka sales agents and obtain a receipt in that the volume of LPG left in the cylinder and the market value of the same will be issued to the customer will be mentioned.
The receipt that is given will contain the name of the customer, address, phone number, ID number, weight of LPG in the cylinder, category, cylinder identification number, date of acceptance, the entire weight of the cylinder, the weight of the cylinder without gas (as mentioned on the cylinder) and the market value of the LPG left in the cylinder.
Since there is a shortage of new Litro Gas LPG cylinders in the market, the company hereby announces that they are unable to provide a new cylinder at the same time as an unfinished LPG cylinder is handed over to the Litro Gas Lanka agent.
It must be noted that the company has to recall such cylinders to assess them, remove the LPG and refill them, a process that takes a considerable amount of time. According to the notice, once the cylinder is ready, the company will inform the customer.
Once the customer is thus informed, the receipt must be handed over to the Litro Gas sales agent and the new cylinder obtained.
Please note that the cylinders that are handed over will be checked for the amount of LPG left in the cylinder and for any shortcomings. If there are any discrepancies, the company will inform the Consumer Affairs Authority and the relevant customer accordingly. (Chaturanga Samarawickram)

Chairman needs training to face such a situation and brave enough to come out with a program and able to work with workers to sort it out the issue, he does have these qualities

It is more practical to issue a new cylinder to the customer for an older cylinder for a reduced price for the unused gas in the cylinder. If half of the gas remained in the old cylinder just charge 50% for the new cylinder.
