Man who walked to paramour’s house in his dream

A man who was caught while visiting his friend’s house in the night, after he developed an illicit affair with his wife, had instantly acted as if he was walking in his sleep.  

The man who was caught was a government servant while his friend was a watcher who worked in the nights. The friend used to frequent the watcher’s house in the nights after he befriended the wife.  The watcher husband who smelt something fishy suspected that his wife was having an affair with his friend after he noticed that his wife was wearing the same perfume used by his friend.  

One evening he pretended as if he was working the night and set out to work. He came back after dusk and hid behind a bush closer to his house. In a short while he saw the friend coming towards his house. He jumped and grabbed him from behind, but the man instantly acted as if he was walking in his sleep.”Machan, where am I? Fortunately I met you.  Am I walking in my dream?” The husband knew that he was lying but pretended to believe the friend. He told his friend, “Machan do not walk in the night. You will be stung by the serpents”   
The friend said he was walking in his dream for six months now and his wife had placed wet gunny bags at the door step. “Unfortunately today I have left the house from the rear door,” he told the friend.  Then the watcher friend said: “Tell your wife to put wet gunnies at both the front and rear doorsteps in future, otherwise you are going to be in great trouble.”
