A leopard that roamed into the Logy estate in Lindula and frequenting a slope, had crashed into a house below through the roof.
Wildlife officers said the leopard giving chase to track down a dog had missed its target and fallen into the house through the roof.
It had charged at one of the estate workers that rushed to the scene to catch a glimpse of it, causing him serious injuries. He was admitted to Lindula divisional hospital and transferred to Nuwarta Eliya General Hospital.
A team of wildlife conservators under Medical Officer of the Randenigala Veterinary Hospital Dr. Akalanka Pinidiya and officers of the Lindula police, erected a protective fence and tranquilised the leopard before it was taken out safely with great difficulty.
Dr. Pinidiya said the leopard would be released to a forest reserve.

Those who helped to remove the leopard are bit silly. If they got a Vet to inject the animal with the right dose of the medication to calm him down getting the animal to the case would have been easy
Great job to save the leopard Saturday, 06 August 2022 02:30 PM
