Senior police officers have expressed that 85 to 90 per cent of the information received about the Easter Sunday attack and about the incidents following are baseless and framed on suspicion.
Police officers have revealed these views at a special discussion held last week to review the progress on the investigation activities on charges against various individuals on the Easter Sunday attack.
Some persons who gave the information to the police also revealed these information even through the media. However, these information have been found baseless, they said.
No connection or involvement of most of persons mentioned in the information have been established in the investigations.
These baseless allegations have adversely affected the characters of several individuals while agitative allegations also have caused harsh inconveniences to those affected, as revealed in the discussion.
