30 Cabinet and 40 State ministers will be appointed

The Cabinet and State ministers will be sworn in next week, an informed source said. According to the informed source, 30 Cabinet ministers will be appointed. Most ministers who currently hold two or more portfolios each will lose one of them for the accommodation of new comers to the Cabinet.

There will be MPs from the Opposition joining the government in their individual capacities regardless of the positions of their parties. The source said around 40 state ministers will be appointed. Once the new Cabinet is appointed, the new government is expected to change the heads of various government institutions.

People dont want a long term govt, only an interim with the program for elections. Present lot appears to be settling down for a long term and waste public funds. Country does not need more than 15 or 20 ministers.

It was foolish of those protestors to trust Ranil's old govenment since the bad men and women are all nicely in parliament well and strong. Rajapaksa's will go for it gain, and thoroughly now do worse since they are emboldened more than ever. Woe to BASL/lawyers who wanted to give new government a chance. It was just so hopeless. Please don't dash hopes of millions of Sri-Lankans by appointing the well known and seasoned crooks. Are you planning to surpass MR's Jumbo cabinet? Do we really need 30 ministers and State Ministers? Also, do we really need 300,000 armed forces? Where is the fund to pay these people? The most pressing problem we face today is filling the cabinet with the same old people who created this problem in connivance with the former nepotism ruling clan. This could be easily achieved thru the incumbent President who is hell-bent to protect them for his own political survival.
